The Beauty Con

This video from Dove, shows how our perceptions of beauty are being manipulated. It isn't really a revelation, but it is a reminder that genuine beauty exists not on the covers of magazines. Perhaps, it is time to rediscover the beauty in a freckle, wrinkle or curve. Take a look at this fascinating transformation.

Haha, Great. When they pulled her head up a bit more to lengthen her kneck, I was like "Wha?". I guess in the past, it was all soft focus movie making to avoid the harsh realitys of how we 'really' look. Nowadays, computers can do "anything" they want to an image or film. It is quite worrying. How do we know what is real anymore? I guess we can't. Recently I saw how a news network in the states had been caught out when somebody analyzed a photo they'd used for a front page "Hell in Iraq" piece. It was a wide shot of a Baghdad skyline with black smoke billowing from burning buildings. Upon closer inspection,the black smoke had been duplicated many times to make it appear as if more of Baghdad was actually burning.

Having become a bit of a YouTube addict, I had already seen this! It's a pretty fascinating video.
