The Forbidden city is a favourite of mine. I keep visiting the place whenever in China, and love getting lost in all those side courtyards. A relative recently went there on a tour, and I urged her to try and get off that central strip at some stage, which they herde tour groups through. Because the real gems of the forbidden city are those quiet little courtyards, agree? Not to say that the central imperial thrones and things aren't amazing (they are astounding). But the place needs a long slow (or repeat) visit, to get the best out of it and capture the atmosphere of the place.

Roger Moore and the Forbidden City...

An explosive combination!!!
