Steve Irwin

22 February 1962 – 4 September 2006

I feel extremely saddened by the tragic death of Steve Irwin. His wonderfully infectious enthusiasm and love for all our fellow inhabitants on this small planet, will be very much missed. He became a star in his field, because he truly did shine. Thank you, Steve. You will not be forgotten.

My condolences go out to the Irwin family. Be strong. You are loved.

Quite a surprise wasn't it. Although, it wasn't really a "shock" to me really, when I heard the news. He was always tempting fate. Personally I didn't agree with a lot of how he did things (provoking animals into their defence mechanism to wow the crowds). But as for his other work of conservation, he had my support. I hear that his closest associates had always suspected that if he was buy it, it would be by marine life instead of land life.

I was very upset to hear that Steve had finally lost his life while on his adventures. His enthusiasm was indeed infectious and made him stand out from all the other wildlife presenters. His passion for animals, ALL animals was incredible.
One of my favourite moments from Steve Irwin is when he comes out of a cave, his eyes wide with excitement and then he starts talking about 'bat poo' like it's the most fascinating thing in the universe!
Got to love the guy. He will be very much missed by many around the world, but most of all his family must feel the loss of him greatly. I hope his children grow up to live and love life as much as their father did.
